Red Union is a Serbian punk rock band formed in Novi Sad, Serbia in 2000. They recorded their first demo in 2002 and signed with the German independent label Bandworm Records[1] . The label also released their recent LP, Blackbox Recorder.[2] Red Union has played over 130 concerts in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, the Republic of Macedonia, Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, Netherlands, France, Spain and Italy. Red Union's music is mostly influenced by The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers, Cock Sparrer, Newtown Neurotics, The Jam, US Bombs, Swingin' Utters etc. In 2008 band has plans for two new releases, two split seven-inch singles with the Argentinean band Argies and the US streetpunk band from Boston, USM. Red Union is well known as left wing and anti-fascist band. They attribute their name to a brand of chino-pants produced by Serbia's largest textile manufacturer, Yumco. Since then Yumco has stopped producing the product, for reasons unrelated to the band.[3]
