[edit] History
Red Swastika School first started with 8 classes in a wooden building and a staff of 10 under the first Principal, Mr Chuang Shih Ie. It was decided that the school be relocated at Bedok North Avenue 3 to make way for the development of Changi area.
The foundation stone of the new Red Swastika School was laid at its present site on 28 November 1979. It was officially opened on 11 July 1981. Upon completion of the project, Mr Chuang Shih Ie retired from service and Mr Wong Sin Eng was appointed the Principal in January 1982.
In 1990, it was designated as one of the 15 Special Assistance Plan (SAP) primary schools in Singapore with its good Chinese education tradition. The idea of building a double-storey hall and tuckshop was conceived in 1991 and the construction of the building was completed in 1994. In mid-December 1994, Mr Chia Tai Ching became the next Principal of the school.
The main school building, which includes a three-storey extension completed in late 1997, houses all the classrooms, special rooms and administration and staff offices. It is linked to the double-storey hall cum tuckshop built in 1994.
In mid-December 2001, the fourth Principal, Mr Ong Kian Hin took over the administration of the school. The school was undergoing upgrading under the Programme for Rebuilding and IMproving Existing schools (PRIME) which commenced in March 2002. However, construction stopped abruptly halfway through due to insufficient funds. Another company was contracted to continue upgrading works and was finally fully completed in the year 2006.
In 2003, the first principal of the school, Mr Chuang Shih Ie, passed away peacefully. He was in his nineties. The school and state flags were flown at half mast that day.
In 2007 august 3, and official opening was held and the students performed their first musical ever. At that year, the current principal, Mr. Chua Ying Hwee, became the vice princpal which now takes care of the school as the principal.

[edit] Meaning of Swastika
The Swastika symbol as used here means the everlasting existence of Dao. The cross (+) within it represents the interaction between Dao and Man.
The four horizontal lines affixed to the four ends of the cross signify that the services given to humankind shall spread worldwide (north, south, east, and west) to promote universal brotherhood. Actions in the pursuit of universal brotherhood are endless.
The bright red colour of the swastika symbol with a backdrop of a white oval-shaped cell denotes purity and innocence as that of a newborn child.
