Red Rooster Radio

Red Rooster is a Dutch blues and roots radio program from radio station Omroep Venlo FM, broadcasting in the South of the Netherlands, every Sunday evening from seven until nine hours. On March 4, 2005 they had their 500e radio show. Blues and roots music is hot in this region. Throughout the year there are several blues and roots festivals, like the Bluesrock festival (Tegelen) and the Moulin Blues festival (Ospel).

The first half of the show is reserved for bluesrock. In the second half Red Rooster contributes to singer/songwriters, americana bands, and musical styles like country music, soul music, jazz music and rock music. New blues and roots music is reviewed by Fons Daamen from Moulin Blues. The program closes with a liveblok.

At regular times there are guests and bands in the studio.

Every Sunday night Red Rooster broadcastes from 7 until 9 p.m. (GMT +1.00 hrs) live through internet radio on Red Rooster Radio
