The Red Rock Rat (Aethomys chrysophilus) is a species of rodent in the Muridae family. It it found in Angola, Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, dry savanna, moist savanna, arable land, pastureland, and plantations . It is threatened by habitat loss.
