Cork's Red FM is an Irish radio station which broadcasts to Cork and the surrounding area, and is aimed at a youth audience.
Cork's Red FM commenced broadcasting at 08:00 on 16 January 2002.[1]Cork's Red FM was awarded Ireland’s first youth radio licence. Its target market is 15-35 year olds in Cork city and county. In its first three years on air Cork's RedFM had picked up 6 prestigious PPI (Phonographic Performance Ireland) National Radio awards. In March 2003 Red FM was awarded a Guinness Radio Advertising award for its creative work. Red FM recently launched a road-safety campaign, titled "Brake The Cycle", hoping to cut road-deaths in Cork City and County. In October 2007, Red FM picked up three more PPI awards including one for 'Brake the Cycle' under the Community/Social Action category.

Some key Red FM personnel had previously worked with "Longwave, Atlantic 252" which ceased broadcasting on Thursday December 20, 2001. RedFM's first Chief Executive, Cork native Henry Condon and former presenter Charlie Wolf, a Boston native, were both well known voices on Atlantic 252.
