[edit] History
Red FM was launched in 1998 initially as a mining radio station providing news and music to the remote mining areas. It has since extended its broadcast reach to other remote areas that were previously serviced by WAFM. Red FM now has the largest geographical service area for a radio network in the Southern hemisphere. Its target audience is the 18-39 group with a potential listening audience of 130,000 people statewide. Being based in Perth allows Red FM access to Perth radio personalities to ensure listeners get the best professional sound.
Red FM generally broadcasts to the same area as its sister station The Spirit Network
