Wikipedia:Recent additions 1/History
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This page is a table of data used for the Did you know project. The table below includes data for the DYK entries archived at Wikipedia:Recent additions 1. The information was initially mined by tools run by User:Rick Block, and subsequently manually updated as part of verifying the data.
[edit] Row verification procedure
If the Verified cell for a particular row lacks a signature, please verify/revise the data in that row. If the information is incorrect, please update the table with the correct information. If the article, nominator, and/or creator have not been credited, please post a credit to the appropriate talk page. Once the table row has been updated with the correct information and the information in the row verified, please enter ~~~~ in the Verified cell for that row to let others know that the verification for that row is complete. If you see a way for the bot to be improved, please post a note at User talk:Rick Block.
[edit] Column headings
The columns in the table include the following:
- Article - is the unpiped name of the article appearing on the Main Page. The data was obtained from the archive at Wikipedia:Recent additions 1.
- First post - is the date of the initial post that created the article, obtained from the article's history. A yellow highlighted first post date represents a likely DYK 5X expansion nomination such that the DYK creator may not be the article originator.
- DYK date - is the date the article appeared on the Main Page. The data was obtained by parsing the history of T:DYK.
- Nominator - is the username of the editor who nominated the article for DYK. The data was obtained from the Template talk:Did you know page history.
- Nom - The nomination link may be used to verify the DYK nominator. The link is to the first version of Template talk:Did you know that includes a proposed DYK for the article. In cases where the article is renamed after an initial nomination the tool may have incorrectly identified the nominator.
- Creator(s) - is the editor(s) who contributed the DYK qualifying text to the article. This column is initially populated (by the tool) with the username of the editor who made the first post to the article. Where the nomination was a 5X expansion, the creator information determined by the tool likely will need to be revised. Also, where there is more than one DYK creator, that information will need to be added to the table manually.
- Article talk - is a link to the article talk page to verify the article credit.
- Nom talk - is a link to the nominator's talk page (or any subpage) that has a link to the article, to help verify the nominator credit. The data was obtained from the What links here backlinks for the article. A missing link means the nominator wasn't credited, the tool didn't find the correct nominator, or the nominator archives his/her talk page by deleting entries.
- Creator talk - is a link to the creator's talk page (or any subpage) that has a link to the article, to help verify the creator credit (also obtained from the What links here backlinks for the article). A missing link means the creator wasn't credited, the tool didn't find the correct creator, or the creator archives his/her talk page by deleting entries.
- Verified - includes the ~~~~ signature of the editor verifying that row in the table. This is manually added to the table by the editor verifying the data in a particular row.
