[Recovery] is the first released EP from Blue Springs, Missouri band Eyes of the Betrayer. It was released on August 17, 2004. The effort was engineered, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Aaron Crawford, drummer for Flee the Seen in his home in Leavenworth, KS.
Eyes of Hope is a re-recording of the same song from their earlier split release with Flattery Leads to Ruins in 2003. The lyrical content ranges from personal love loss conflictions, metaphors on staying true to ones self, and teenage rebellion.
The ending guitar interlude at the end of the track "Apostate" is an untitled composition written and performed by guitarist Chip Anderson, though it was not intended to be viewed as part of "Apostate"s composition. It was recorded outside of the studio at vocalist Dustin Albright's home, by he and Anderson, the day before the final mixing and mastering happened.
Aside from minor movie samples included on the disc, various sound effects in between tracks were created and recorded by Albright, outside of the studio as well.
