Description

"Rechnung auff der Linihen und Federn..." Der Rechenmeister Adam Ries hatte keine eigene Schule. Dennoch hat er sein 2. Rechenbuch (Erstausgabe 1525) didaktisch sehr geschickt aufgebaut: Es beginnt mit dem anschaulichen Linienrechnen und führt erst danach zum anspruchsvolleren Ziffernrechnen ("Federn"). Believe the author of this may have been a Frearson, or Frearson Brothers of Norseman, Dundas, Western Australia who had the first newspaper there. Also had newspaper in King Street, Adelaide where other family operated doing maps. Some brothers moved to Norseman 1890's and settled there some 18 years. Septimus Frearson was a Councillor of the Shire of Dundas at the time of proposed recession with newspaper articles related to visit by Premier John Forrest.
