Rebordosa

Rebordosa (pron. IPA[ʁɨbuɾ'dɔzɐ]) is a city in Northern Portugal,in the Tâmega subregion and a parish in the municipality of Paredes. It is approximately 20km east of the city of Porto. It has an area of 11.17 km² and a population of 10,813 (as of 2001). It was designated as a town(Pt. vila) in 1984 and elevated to city(Pt. cidade) status in 2003. It is one of four cities in the Paredes municipality(the others are:Paredes,Gandra and Sao Salvador de Lordelo.

Rebordosa occupies a place at the centre of the Portuguese furniture making industry. The Professional Woodwork & Furniture Industry Training Centre (Centro de Formação Profissional das Indústrias da Madeira e Mobiliário or FPIMM) is located in Rebordosa, as are a multitude of furniture outlets and factories.
