Info (help·info)

"Rebelde" is a song recorded by the popular Mexican pop group RBD. It was released as the first single off their debut album Rebelde in 2004 in Mexico, in 2005 in the United States, and as a Spanish release in the summer of 2006. "Rebelde" became 2005's major hit in Mexico and was the start of the band's successful career.

The song was used extensively in the soap opera's Rebelde first season.

The Greek singer Tamta also made a cover of the song in Greek, titled "Pame Parea."

The Portuguese version of this song was released as single on Brazil.

[edit] Chart Performance

The song stayed in the #1 spot for more than 2 months in Mexico. It also reached the top position in Brazil, Colombia, Chile and many other Latin-American countries.

In the Latin America Top 40 the single performance was successful due to heavy airtime in Mexico, and to the fact that the number one song in Mexico usually tends to reach the Top 10 in the chart. Consequently, the song reached the chart at #40 in March. The song gave the band recognition, but it ultimately only peaked at #37 on Billboard's Top 50 Latin Songs, while "Solo Quédate en Silencio," the band's next single, peaked at #2 and stayed there for over a month.

2005[1], the single jumped from #40 to #7 the following week[2]and peak at #2 in its sixth week[3]. The single ended the year as the 13th most played song in Latin American2005[4]. In February 2008, two months after making official debut in the radios of Equatorial Guinea, the song reaches the #1 in Radio Malabo and supports it for 5 weeks. One week after losing the first position, recovers her and supports it one more week.
