Rebecca Yates (born July 1985) is an English painter specialising in conceptual figure work, primarily in acrylic paint.
Her paintings often use explicit and erotic imagery, and explore the human form as well as issues of violence and sex.
Her academic background includes an exploration of the same issues that arise in her art: after an undergraduate degree in philosophy at Lancaster University, she went on to explore ultra-violence in William Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus, at the University of Sussex.
Originally from Wantage, Oxfordshire, she is based in Hove, East Sussex, and chiefly exhibits there and in nearby Brighton, including through the Brighton Festival's Artists Open House scheme.
