From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rebecca Wells (born 1952) is an American playwright and author. She is best known for her Ya-Ya series of novels.

Wells was born in Central Louisiana and grew up on a working plantation where her family has lived since 1795. In 1982, she went to Seattle, Washington to work with a performing arts group. She loved it there so much that she decided to stay. She currently lives on an island near Seattle.

Since the late 1990s, Wells has suffered from severe neurological Lyme disease, an experience chronicled on her website[1] and in an interview with CTV about the writing of her novel Ya-Yas in Bloom (2005)[2]
