Rebecca Welles (December 17, 1944, Santa Monica, California – October 10, 2004, Tacoma, Washington) was the daughter of director, writer, actor and producer Orson Welles and actress Rita Hayworth. She was the half sister of Yasmin Aga Khan on her mother's side, and Chris Welles Feder and Beatrice Welles-Smith on her father's side. She is buried in Tacoma, Washington.
A graduate of the drama program of the University of Puget Sound, Welles married twice. Her first husband, whom she married in 1970 and later divorced, was Perry Moede, a sculptor.[1] Her second husband was Guy Manning. She was the mother of Marc Welles (aka Marc McKerrow),[2] whom she gave up for adoption as an infant,[3] but not film and stage actress Gwen Welles, as is commonly supposed.[1]
This Rebecca Welles is often confused with the TV actress, Rebecca Welles (Weis), whose real name was Reba Tassell and who was married to TV director Don Weis.
The Internet Movie Database shows Orson Welles' daughter Rebecca with one credit, a guest appearance (as herself) on The Art Linkletter Show in 1970.[2] Other sources[3] say she also had guest appearances on 77 Sunset Strip, Alcoa Theatre, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents but these are actually some of the many TV acting credits of Rebecca Welles (Weis).[4]
