Rebecca Simmons

Rebecca Simmons is a justice on the fourth court of appeals in Texas.
Justice Simmons has served on the Court of Appeals, Fourth District since her appointment to the appellate court in May 2005. Prior to her appointment, Justice Simmons served for two years as district judge of the 408th Judicial District Court in Bexar County.
She is a graduate of Baylor University School of Law where she served as a notes and comments editor for the Baylor Law Review. Following law school Justice Simmons served as a briefing attorney for the Texas Supreme Court. She moved to San Antonio where she practiced trial and appellate law for 20 years before being appointed to the bench. She is licensed to appear before the Northern, Western and Southern District Courts of Texas and the Fifth, Eleventh and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeals.
Justice Simmons is currently serving as Chair of the Texas Bar Foundation.
