[edit] Character information
Rebecca was the daughter of Donald and Barbara Fisher, and sister to Alan.
Rebecca first appeared in Summer Bay in 1989 to visit her father, shortly after the revelation that local troublemaker Bobby Simpson was Donald's other daughter, from an affair he had had with Rebecca's aunt, Morag Bellingham. Rebecca reacted badly to this news, running away, causing locals think she had committed suicide. Lance Smart and Martin Dibble went looking for Rebecca, but she had hidden out in a caravan at the Caravan park owned by The Fletchers and was found by Steven Matheson.
Rebecca later gave Lance and Martin a surprise when she appeared in the water where they were looking for her. After Donald had explained everything about Bobby and Morag, Rebecca stayed in Summer Bay for the school holidays.
Rebecca and Steven began dating much to the chagrin of Donald who felt that this was a detriment to Rebecca's musical studies. Donald eventually relented and allowed Rebecca to attend a Summer Bay High school dance with Steven before leaving to return to school.
In 1994, Rebecca returned and began seeing local schoolteacher, Luke Cunningham. Donald did everything to keep them apart, including giving Luke extra work at School. However, Luke soon broke up with Rebecca of his own accord and received a rock through his windscreen for his trouble. Rebecca left soon after.
In 1996, Rebecca returned to Summer Bay and was involved in a number of storylines including being stalked by Chloe Richards' rapist Brad Cooper and losing her hearing.
Rebecca briefly dated Steven again, before falling hard for her good friend Travis Nash. In late 1997, Rebecca and Travis married in an intimate ceremony on the beach and the following year, they took over The Tenancy on Summer Bay House from Pippa Ross after she moved to the Carrington Ranges with Ian Routledge. Rebecca and Travis also took on the care of Pippa's remaining foster children Sam Marshall, Teigan Brook and Justine Welles.
In October 1999, Rebecca and Travis sailed away from Summer Bay on a tall ship and set up home in Canada. It has since been mentioned in passing they have had a son, who has not been named.
