The ReBuilder is an electronic treatment system to treat peripheral neuropathy, a nerve disorder characterized by pain, numbness and or tingling. The device is registered by the FDA under the 510(k) regulations in 1988. Studies have indicated a 95% efficacy rate [1]. The ReBuilder is designed to be used by the patient in his own home. It was developed by David B. Phillips who was awarded the "Inventor of the Year" award in 1987 for his infrared ear thermometer, the FirsTemp.
The ReBuilder works by sending a copy of a healthy nerve signal from one extremity to the other, usually via a warm water foot bath.
There are over 100 hospitals, clinics and physician's offices who offer ReBuilder treatments.
