[edit] Godsmack
Hi, would you please talk some sense into User:Demantos. He is trying to merge Godsmack discography with Godsmack. Godsmack has enough music to warrent a seperate article for discography, and any substantially successful band has one on wikipedia. Please comment on his talk page, and comment here.
Thank you,

[edit] St Thomas
For your efforts to keep the peace and resisting the temptations to engage in an edit war on st thomas I award each yourself, Deconstructhis and jgale061 a barnstar of peace. May you continue to contribute to wikipedia in the dignified fashion you always do

[edit] Question
Hey there Reaper! I've been perusing your contributions and such, and I have definitely seen you around here, and am looking to vote at your Rfa, but, as some other editors have said, I find myself confused by the statement "My next task is becoming an admin, so I can have my hand further in the cookie jar" on your userpage. I'm holding off my vote, hopefully looking for an answer from ya! Just a just curious what that's all about; perhaps an inside joke or such. :) Jmlk17 00:51, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Note of encouragement
Hey there - I am sorry to see you withdrew your RfA (I was on my way to comment). I was a bit bewildered by most of the opposes, but such is life. If you'd like to give it a while (maybe 90 days) I would be happy to nominate you in the future. --Spike Wilbury ♫ talk 21:21, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] ==Pedophilia and Child Sexual Abuse in Fiction==
Thanks for your response to the request for comment on the Pedophilia and Child Sexual Abuse in Fiction page. Its principal author appears to agree that it could be replaced with a simple list, under a less POV title and introduction. To that end, I have put a proposed version up on a sandbox at my Wikipedia user page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:SocJan/Sandbox Your comments would be very welcome. [edit] U2 Peer Review
Hi, just wanted to let you know that I just nominated U2 for a peer review. Any advice on getting people to look at it? Thanks! Wikipedia brown (talk) 01:58, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hi again! The peer review for U2 was going nowhere fast, so I nominated the article for FA candidacy. You were supportive of this (and I hope you still are!). If so, may I ask that you provide your support at Wikipedia:Featured_article_candidates/U2? Many thanks. Wikipedia brown (talk) 05:35, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

As you were a contributor in the last TFD, I am letting you know that {{Maintained}} is again up for deletion. Please review the current version of the template and discuss it at the TFD. Thanks! — BRIAN0918 • 2008-01-30 17:48Z

[edit] Long
People think that if an article has LONG tagged on it, it will put reviewers off, but they don't know that it will ATTRACT more reviewers, precisely because it is LONG. Why? Because there are more MISTAKES in it! There is no feeling more comforting (as someone once said) than criticising other people's work. It's what Wikipedia is for, after all... (Wot, me being negative? Absolutely not, dear chap... :) --andreasegde (talk) 17:56, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Zeitgeist
My main suggestion is to focus on the reviews by the most noteworthy media: Time, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, NME, Allmusic, Spin, and the like. It's not as big a problem as it is with In Rainbows, but when it comes to reviews you always want to focus on the top voices available, and then get into less-notable reviewers if you have to. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Wipers - The Herd.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Wipers - The Herd.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 03:18, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Collaboration
From looking at the Rage Against the Machine talk page, I can see that you're a prolific contributor. For that reason, I'd like to get your help if possible. The Rage Against the Machine discography is currently undergoing a complete rewrite by me at User:Seegoon/Dirtbox. I need particular assistance with the music videos; for instance, a discography shouldn't really describe what goes on in the video, but notable events external to it should be listed in the notes column. I need to move all of the description of the videos in the current version of the discography into the article for the single, in order to clean up. If you want to edit the page, that'd be super, but even if you just want to leave a couple of comments, that'll do too. All in all, thanks for your time. Seegoon (talk) 13:59, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Resolution near (?) on how to entitle Tony Sandel's lists of books portraying sexual attraction to children
Please visit Talk:List_of_works_portraying_adult_attraction_to_young_males#Requested_move. Tony has accepted a proposal for a new title that may put to rest objections dating back to late 2006. Your input in the next few days would be appreciated. You participated in earlier discussions of this question and related questions about that work. SocJan (talk) 03:52, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] annoying vandal
That "AFI-punk" (79.211...) guy who some admin told we should ignore at the discussion board for the Billy Talent page is constantly changing the genres on the front page.. He has removed punk rock this time. Can't you just ban him? It's getting annoying, and he seems to have crossed some banlimit already.. ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.212.104.61 (talk) 00:59, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hi there! I've been warning him for months and reporting him to WP:AIV. Obviously this situation is a lot easier now that I have admin tools myself. For the last few days, each day that he vandalises, I've given him a final warning and if he ignores that, I've blocked. However, I left him a message on one of the ips he was active on, telling him that it was his final warning. He's been given enough blocks to know that what he's doing is wrong, so from now on if I see him vandalising, it's an immediate 24 hour block.
- Because he's operating from dynamic ip addresses (they change daily), we can't block him for a longer period than that. So in this situation it's best to deny recognition and revert, block, ignore. He'll get bored eventually. Seraphim♥ Whipp 14:22, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Dangerous Toys self-titled.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Dangerous Toys self-titled.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:AVSS viking heads.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:AVSS viking heads.JPG. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 20:52, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] School logo
Hi there. I was curious if you could help me with the copyright status of Image:AVSS viking heads.JPG. This image is a symbol of Arthur Voaden Secondary School, a TVDSB secondary school in St. Thomas, Ontario Canada. I have the suspicion that it may not be full-out copyrighted, or there may be no copyright at all. Could you determine this in any way? Please post a reply on my talk page. Thanks. -- Reaper X 22:41, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not aware of any reason to believe they would not be fully copyrighted. Do you know when the logo was created? --Rat at WikiFur (talk) 05:29, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] NIN Stuff
Hey man, so good work so far on With Teeth. I'll try and find some time soon to help out with that article. In the meantime, I was hoping I could ask you a NIN-related favor. Nine Inch Nails live performances is at FAC right now, and one of the reviewers has asked that the article by copyedited by an "unrelated party." I guess what I means by that is that it needs to be copyedited by anyone but me. So, I was hoping you might be able to take a few minutes and tweak the prose a little bit? If not, no big deal, but that would help me with one of the larger complaints concerning that article. Thanks either way. Drewcifer (talk) 21:05, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, it looks like I was mistaken with that. After a bit more researching, it actually was NIN that did the remixes. But I'm not so sure it belongs on the main NIN page, since it doesn't relate to the greater history of NIN all that much. But I suppose it belongs on the template. That's just my own opinion though. [edit] Certifications
Just wanted to let you know that I was semi-stealing/semi-expanding upon Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums/Certifications at List of music recording sales certifications. Figured it was time that stuff was brought into the main namespace. Just wanted to give you a heads up, in hopes to avoid the thought that I just blatantly copied/stole your idea. Anyways, that's it! Keep up the good work. Drewcifer (talk) 02:47, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
