Are we watching a new species evolve here? It seems that the Real's Wood White is better suited to the 20th century environment we have created than the Wood White but it's odd and very patchy distribution is quite peculiar. Maybe the pressures we are exerting on this species have caused a genetic change in the Wood White causing it to become what we call the Real's Wood White. Perhaps we have inadvertantly activated some of it's junk DNA?
