Deleating this
I seriously like these kinds of articles. I really cannot do anything productive on Wiki but this so taking this away will make me unable to do anything on Wiki. Richardkselby (talk) 04:30, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
Shorten and reorganize?
I took a stab at shortening the long list of quotes and organizing the material more by topic than by country here. I have reverted my own edit pending reaction from others, and would prefer that someone besides me reinstate the edit, if the consensus is that it is a good idea. If people think this is a good idea, presumably the "Responses from organizations" would also be folded into the sections on condolences and aid and so on.
I think this organization would be better suited to working in more material about what the different countries provided (perhaps as part of the main article 2008 Sichuan earthquake; since the rewrite is much shorter, this might lessen opposition to a merge) and other material which goes a bit beyond being a dry list of quotes.
