[edit] Plot
Frank shows J.T.'s new apartment to Carol and Dana, and J.T. tries to save some money by having a roommate to share the rent. He begins to tell his parents about his new roommate when -- all of a sudden -- Rich flies through the door on rollerblades, missing the Lamberts, and ends up smashing one of the windows. Frank goes to help Rich up, and accidentally gets bagged by his skis.
Carol comes home from work to the surprise of a bunch of new toys for Lilly. She discusses her concerns over the amount of "spoiling" that Lilly is getting from Jean-Luc. He even goes as far as to hire a clown to entertain Lilly.
J.T. and Rich overuse their new-found freedom, so Frank lays down some new rules with an impromptu "lease". The rules stipulate thar the rent has to be paid on the 1st of each month, no loud music past 10:00pm, and no women are allowed overnight. The consequences include Rich's stereo going into the wood-chipper.
J.T. and Rich spend their rent money on a new satellite system for the apartment. Frank warns them about the rent, and they just laugh it off. Jean-Luc comes into the kitchen to show Frank and Carol his last present for Lilly: a pony, much to Carol's dismay. She talks to him, and finds out it is all about his longing for his daughter.
