From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Clarence Holmes (born April 1968 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American Hip hop record producer and beatboxer. He is best known for his early career with Will Smith (who at the time was going by the name "The Fresh Prince") and DJ Jazzy Jeff as one third of DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. In 1990, Holmes was dropped from the group due to creative differences with Smith, who claimed that beatboxing was "played out".

Holmes unsuccessfully sued Smith and Jeff in 1997 because of problems with royalties. Contrary to popular belief, it has been confirmed that he is not Carlton Banks, who was played by Alfonso Ribeiro on the TV Show The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
