Reading Station is a commuter rail station in Reading on the Reading/Haverhill Line serviced by the MBCR, a branch of the MBTA. This was the former terminus of this line before it was then extended to Haverhill. The original intension of the MBTA was to cease Commuter Rail Services on this line and replace it with an extension of the Orange Line from Oak Grove to Reading with all the former commuter rail stations and one new station called 128/Reading. This idea was shot down by people who desired the commuter rail instead.[1]
