Reading, Writing and Arithmetic is the first album by The Sundays. It was released in the UK, on Rough Trade Records, on January 15, 1990. A US release followed on April 17, 1990, on the Geffen label. The album name is a reference to the band's hometown, Reading.[citation needed]
