[edit] Templates or graffiti

I am fed up with editorial comment templates on most article pages (see above). I understand their use, I object to their location. Most of the time they are opinions. "This page needs" is an opinion and belongs on the discussion page with other templates. It annoys me no end that often these templates make general comments about the lack of specificity (references, footnotes and such) but never give specific examples or note exactly where such reference would be useful. Shame on lazy scholars who should know better. You want to tag something, do it on the discussion page. You want attention, then give some specific examples. So some idiot's created a page with horrible organization and full of opinions. Edit the page with some honest work or put the tag on the discussion page. I feel so much better after that little rant.

[edit] My primary areas of interest

I am interested in oral history, cross cultural topics, Morris dancing, genealogy, and mentoring people who train others using distance learning technologies. Early in my life, I spent 5 years living and working in 3 different cultures. Used personal computers since 1984 (C/PM).

In Wikipedia, I tend to follow my cultural experiences with Annang-Ibbibio, Navajo and Somali history and topics which relate to my genealogical research. I also contribute to a mediawiki for Moodle.org .

This user page started as a way to make a subpage for a references used in my wikipedia edits. I have discovered as of 4 Dec 2006, I have made 224 page edits; since 14 March 2006 and about 775 total or 515 mainspace edits as of 4 June 2007. While I try to be respectful of other people's words, I am not afraid to reshape thoughts. First sentences, ethnocentrism, and opinions are common areas I tend to edit. Usually I give a lot of thought before I reorganize a page or section because my own bias is towards timelines and facts, with a touch of simple english words.

Here is a wiki for <5000 Thx Mike
