[edit] PlayStation 3 edits
Sorry about that. The edits I was referring to were the ones by Special:Contributions/72.153.114.85, in which the intended cut was the removal of the statement concerning the price discrimination for Europe and Australia. While I didn't agree with the cuts, my attempts to edit it were more because it blanked all the content below it. I also didn't want to get in an edit war with the person, because they had tried the cut twice (both times sloppily). I didn't mean to undo your work in the process. Dancter 14:01, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
- Oh yeah, and just a heads-up: be careful about the three-revert rule. Wouldn't want to see a good editor get blocked. ;) Dancter 15:22, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] PS3 image
Hello! I notice you keep reverting to your own image, but never bothered replying in the PlayStation 3 talk page. If you go there, you would see there is a on going discussion about why this image can't be used in the article. I invite you to drop by there and post your thoughts and, as important, read what the others had said. Wikipedia is about consensus, not unilateral decisions. The article was locked for two weeks or so because of an edit war regarding the image, and the consensus was that the black PS3 image was not suitable for the moment. -- ReyBrujo 05:09, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- This is the text I put in the PlayStation 3 talk page. I am copying it here as well.
- The 1st Fair use guideline explains that, if you have a free and a fair use image, you always need to use the free image. Now, we have a Image:PS3 E32006.jpg (black console with the controller) and a Image:PeaceThree.JPG (metal console without the controller). The model is basically the same, but one has the controller and the other hasn't got it. Note that below there is a updated controller image. Thus, these two images should only need to be used to show the front of the console. Between a fair and a free image, we need to choose the free one. The side-on image can stay because we don't have a free image that shows the same angle. Some may consider it is not needed, but that depends on how strict the editor is. However, most experienced editors, especially those who frequent the Wikipedia:Fair use talk page, would agree that the free image is the one that must be used here (and was the option we chose to stop the edit war we had less than a month ago). I hope this clarifies the matter. -- ReyBrujo 05:32, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

- When the first edit war happened, I brought the matter to the attention of the Wikipedia:Fair use editors. The discussion was held here. I suggest you to visit that link and read the opinions. If you are still not convinced, feel free to post a note there. By the way, in case you did not know, by using 4 consecutive ~ (as in ~~~~), you get your signature and the timestamp, and with 3 consecutive ~ (as in ~~~) you get your username. Just telling you because your current signature, Rcandelori, points to a Wikipedia article instead of your user page (User:Rcandelori). -- ReyBrujo 06:34, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mozilla Firefox spelling edits
Please do not change the spelling style (e.g. -ize/-ise) of an article to the British variant unless the article directly concerns the United Kingdom. See WP:MOS#National varieties of English. KelleyCook 18:52, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks + and a request
Thanks for your edits to Microsoft - it wasn't bias, just lack of sources - good catches! I do have a request though - you changed the beginning of techinical to
- Older versions of Microsoft products were often characterized as being unstable — versions of Windows based on MS-DOS, and later the Windows 95 kernel from the mid to late 1990s, were widely panned for their instability, displaying the Windows Stop Message, or "Blue screen of death", when Windows abruptly terminates an application – usually due to malfunctioning drivers or hardware.[47][49] While less frequent, Windows 2000 and XP are still susceptible to Blue Screens of Death.
Any chance you have a source saying that 2000/XP are criticized less floating around? I realize it is rather self-evident but Microsoft can be rather controversial at times, so when someone comes in demanding it be a certain way - you know :) RN 15:44, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks a million for referencing that!!!! RN 22:34, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Analog/Analogue
Hi, Rcandelori. I noticed that you changed the spelling from its US to its British variant, and then Uberpenguin changed it back, and then you re-changed it again. May I ask your reason for your change back? Is there a guideline regarding the spellings? Thanks in advance. Ex-Nintendo Employee 07:27, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- yeah stop doing that to the playstation 3 article. some English things, such as the metric system, and a non-ambiguous date format (yyyy-mm-dd UTC) are fine, but this is simply cultural and a petty argument. thanks. --69.221.230.253 17:19, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- My understanding of the guideline is that if the article concerns an American object, company or person etc, then the American spellings are appropriate. Since the Playstation 3 is of Japanese origin, international/british variants are more appropriate.--Rcandelori 03:54, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Microsoft edit
Regarding
- However, Wilcox's comments do not consider the fact that Windows is designed to be compatible with a far vaster array of hardware devices compared to Mac OS X, making wizards a necessity to reduce the complexity of installing devices while at the same time ensuring proper functionaility. [1]
I think it is a great edit but it really needs a more specific source as per Talk:Microsoft#Is_this_true.3F - it could you provide one that would be good :). RN 06:09, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] An Automated Message from HagermanBot
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! HagermanBot 14:41, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please do not remove
Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with From the Roots to the Fruits. The notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an article, and removing them is considered vandalism.
