[edit] Background

RBW had its first event in 2006, which took place upon a River Thames party boat. The event, which took the form of a boat party, included music and a live performance by comedian and musician '2, The Ranting Gryphon'. The party sold out with eighty tickets being bought for the event and over one hundred people attending the daytime activities.

In April 2007, RBW planners decided to expand the event from an evening party into a full two day weekend convention. While RBW 2007 continued to host the traditional boat party, it also offered attendees a wider range of activities across a broad spectrum of furry related interests, including fursuiting, art, games and general entertainment. RBW 2007 sold a total of 242 tickets.[2] RBW 2007 also had a conbook, hotel affiliation, dealers, and several guests of honour, mentioned below.

For RBW 2008, the event is projected to be held at the Royal National Hotel and will include the annual evening River Thames cruise. The projected dates for RBW 2008 are the 27th to the 30th of November.
