[edit] Image removal
Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed content from Edward Said. Please be more careful when editing articles and do not remove content from Wikipedia without a good reason, which should be specified in the edit summary. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. TewfikTalk 07:18, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Regarding your move
Your move of British Raj to British India, as well as not having the consensus of other editors (see the talk page), created a whole bunch of double redirects (broken links from other pages) that I have had to fix. Please be more considerate of other editors in the future. Esn 08:08, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Muhammad Zaki
Hi, I removed the speedy tag you placed here because a Lieutenant General (which is a three-star general, if I'm not mistaken) would seem to be a prima facie notable, regardless of whether he actually occupies any significant posts at the moment. If you disagree, feel free to list the article on WP:AFD. Thanks! Johnleemk | Talk 08:43, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image tagging for Image:General Kayani.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:General Kayani.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Image source problem with Image:ACM Tanvir.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:ACM Tanvir.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:52, 7 October 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 21:52, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Gculogo.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Gculogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:11, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Hamid Khan (character)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Hamid Khan (character), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Hamid Khan. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 02:24, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- When you want to move an article, you should use the move tab so that edit history is preserved— when you cut-and-paste, the previous authors of the article are not properly credited and that's a big GFDL no-no. I've tagged the new copy for deletion so that the move can be done correctly; the net effect will be the same. — Coren (talk) 05:34, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Duplicate images uploaded
Thanks for uploading Image:Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Pervaiz elahi.jpg. The copy called Image:Pervaiz elahi.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot (talk) 05:29, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Image:Gen Ashfaq Kayani.jpg
A tag has been placed on Image:Gen Ashfaq Kayani.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [2], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:
- state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
- add the relevant copyright tag.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Relata refero (disp.) 19:23, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] DYK
--Gatoclass (talk) 13:28, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- BTW, I think that should be "General" with a capital G. Gatoclass (talk) 13:46, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, I guess that is confusing, but with "General" I think you will find it has to be capitalized because it's a military rank/title and because the word "general" with a small "g" is too easily confused with its other meaning, which is "not particular". Regards, Gatoclass (talk) 14:00, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
