Razbari Sumthing
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Razbari Sumthing (RazSum for short) was a Syracuse, New York based ska-rock band who formed in June of 2002. They played their last show in June 2007. Although labeled as 'ska', the group has fallen into their own style of 'ska influenced' rock which draws from traditional ska bands, but is not traditional ska itself.

[edit] Brief Background and History
Taking their time and building a fan base in their home town, little was heard of Razbari Sumthing in the first two years. After a lineup change at the end of 2004, the band began picking up pace. With two EPs under their belts already, the band released their first full-length album The Great Distraction. Having Forget The Words and Sacks on Ball Street selling 1000 copies independently, things were looking up. Notable bookings include The Toasters, Planet Smashers, Alkaline Trio, Mustard Plug, Big D and the Kids Table, The Pietasters, Mike Park, and more. Until the summer of 2006, Razbari Sumthing had only performed at a regional level, playing in New York, CT, and Pennsylvania frequently. RazSum has played in Syracuse, New York, frequently at Klub Polski, and the Wescott Community Center they also appeared at Skalloween in 2006.
The Summer of 2006 turned the page to a new chapter for RazSum. In June, they won two SAMMYs (Central NY's version of the Grammys), one for Best New Rock Recording and the other was the People's Choice Award. This finally made it clear that not only did musicians and critics think RazSum was the best, so did the fans of Central NY too. It also marked their first national tour, and the eventual loss of their long-time lead singer, primary songwriter, and founder Michael Larkin.
RazSum's lyrics cover a range of topics, uncharacteristic of many traditional ska bands. Some songs are goofy and fun. Others are simply poetry of love and lost love. The latest release, "The Great Distraction", boasts a number of social commentaries that while thought-provoking at times, are never political or preachy in nature.
Sadly, on June 29th, 2007 Razbari Sumthing performed there last show ever, but according to their myspace, a possible reunion show sometime in 2012 is rumored.
On November 27 2007 they had an unexpected show and on March 30, 2008.
