Talk:Raymond Hawkey
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Notes for subsequent editors:
- NPOV. This is intended to be a good faith article and I have no connection with any of the parties mentioned or cited.
- Living Persons. I have attempted to follow the Biographies of living persons guidelines, and I have found no obituary for Mr Hawkey. However I have no grounds for adding the 'living persons' category to this article.
- Dempsey article. This article (originally published in Design Week in Dec 2001) was useful as a source of biographical material, but I did not intend to violate the copyright by using it as a source because (i) only a subset of information from the article has been used (e.g. information about his Notting Hill location and furniture was omitted); (ii) the forms of words have been changed except where they are an essential part of the facts cited (e.g. there is no accurate paraphrase for "lifelong friends"); (iii) the author and publisher intended the life and works of Mr Hawkey to be recognised and this article helps direct readers to relevant material on the publisher's websites.
Help/advice on the following would be appreciated:
- Fair use of scanned book covers. The only time I uploaded a scanned cover (Only When I Larf) the BetacommandBot killed it, yet the existing Image:DSCN1488-ipcress-front masked 600x800.JPG has no justification. As it is a scan from a poor original I would like to replace it. I need more guidance on how to legitimately upload book cover scans.
- Sources of covers by named designers. Some books that seem to have covers by Mr Hawkey are uncredited on the back cover and front material. Is there a search resource that would help me to find book covers using a search by designer name?
