Who in their right mind would name a kid "Elzie"?(I thought Ashleigh or Cooper was bad enough). One can imagine his mother calling him for dinner- "ELLLLZEEEE, here boy, yawl come"- and all the neighborhood dogs come running, no wonder this poor bastard went to the chair.
