As it happens, the original version was a copyvio which is the only grounds that this article could have been speedy deleted on. The article certainly made claims to notability which are verifiable from reliable sources. Capitalistroadster 06:16, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Start classification
I have classified this article as a start. It is capable of further expansion referring to his role within Australian Judaism. Capitalistroadster 06:16, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Doctor of Laws honoris causa
If his sole "doctorate" is honorary, the "Dr." should be removed from in front of his name. Does anyone know if he actually earned a (non-honorary) doctorate? --RandomHumanoid(⇒) 04:00, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- According to Who's Who in Australia 2007, the doctorate is honorary. I shall remove it. Capitalistroadster 06:17, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Why does someone with an honorary doctorate no get the "Dr." title? :: maelgwn :: talk 08:14, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- From Honorary_doctorate: In many countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States, it is not considered correct for an honorary doctor to use the formal title of "doctor", regardless of the background circumstances for the award. More generally, it is considered highly self-promoting in a most distasteful way. As the saying goes, someone with an honorary doctorate who uses the title "doctor" is not only fooling everyone else, he is also fooling himself.--RandomHumanoid(⇒) 18:04, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Smicha?
Very odd to spend so much time on a rabbi's secular credentials and not mention where he obtained smicha (ordination). --RandomHumanoid(⇒) 15:33, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
