Raymond S. and Dorothy N. Moore Foundation

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Raymond S. and Dorothy N. Moore Foundation is a non-profit organization in North Bonneville, Washington. The Moore Foundation is best known for its "Moore formula" educational concept in homeschooling, consisting of study, manual work and community service.[1] The Moore's principal research finding encourages parents not to "subject your children to formal, scheduled study before the ages of 8 to 10 or 12."[2]

In 2002, the Moore Foundation mourned the passing of Dorothy Moore, who helped to pioneer the concept of homeschooling.

Dr. Raymond S. Moore, author of Better Late than Early, the book that launched the modern homeschooling movement in the United States, died on July 13, 2007, at the age of 91.
