Raymond Parks (auto racing)

Raymond Parks (born in 1914 in Dawsonville, Georgia) was the owner of Red Byron's car which won NASCAR's first Strictly Stock (now NEXTEL Cup) championship in 1949.

Parks was the first child of Alfred and Leila Parks and grandson of Benny Parks who was the man who found gold in the state of Georgia in the United States. Raymond was the oldest of sixteen children. Six of which were from Leila, and the other ten were from Leila's sister Ila.
