Rayat Shikshan Sanstha is organized founded by Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil. The 'Rayat' means masses and the educational institution named after it was to focus its attention on the welfare and happiness of the masses. The organization has its heaquators in Satara.

The first school was started in Kolhapur by Karmaveer Bhaurao in 1927.Today, the Sanstha has 40 colleges, 17 post-graduate colleges , 439 Secondary Schools, 8 Training Colleges,26 Primary Schools, 18 Pre-Primary Schools, 68 Cosmopolitan hostels, 7 Administrative Offices, 8 Ashramshalas, 2 ITI, and 60 Ancillary branches.
