From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
George Raymond Bloom is a first class cricketer who played one match for Yorkshire County Cricket Club in 1964. A left handed batsman he scored just 2 runs before being bowled by Derek Underwood in his only innings. On a brighter note he took two catches in the match against Kent at the delightfully named Crabble Athletic ground in Dover and his Yorkshire team ran out winners by an innings and 13 runs thanks to Ray Illingworth taking 14 for 101 in the match.
He was born on September 13, 1941, in Aston, Sheffield and played for Yorkshire Seconds in the Minor Counties championship from 1962 to 1964.
