Good catch on my faux pas on userfying this...In NP Patrolling, I saw the article name, user name, and came to the wrong conclusion. My apologies, and thanks for covering my six. Akradecki 19:00, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Poppy quarter image

I'll look for a free image. In the meantime, hold off on any deletion action. Even better, if you know of a free image, replace this one and ask the administrators to delete/hide-from-public-view the previous versions. davidwr 09f9(talk) 17:13, 7 May 2007 (UTC) I also dispute the validity of the copyright of "mere photos" of works of art, including coins. The US Supreme Court has ruled that simple photos of public-domain artwork does not entitle the photographer to any copyright protections. IANAL but the same logic should apply to works that are under copyright: The original copyright, if any, remains intact, but the photograph does not enjoy any additional copyright protection. AFAIK, coins are either in the public domain, copyrighted by the country or mint that makes them, or by the original designer. davidwr 09f9(talk) 17:29, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Hi David, I flagged it because I believe that the photographer may have copyright on the image, not the coin itself. IANAL either, so it's probably best for others here at Wikipedia to pass judgement when they review it. You should make your arguments for keeping the image on the talk page of the image, so that they will be seen when the image is reviewed. Rawr 17:53, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Telus.gif listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Telus.gif, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. +mt 00:32, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Telus.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Telus.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:02, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:FuriousGeorgeLogo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:FuriousGeorgeLogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 18:05, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Telus Article - History Section

I have removed, for the 2nd time, this unsourced paragraph. Simply adding it back with a "citation needed" tag is inappropriate. The most basic of Wiki policies is you must quote a valid source when adding information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Markbaker2 (talkcontribs) 00:21, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
