[edit] pronunciation

the RP pron. was listed with the first vowel as in cow. That seems odd, and I couldn't confirm, so I took it out and left only the local pron. Pls restore if I was too hasty. kwami (talk) 04:36, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

I added that and it was probably caused by my lack of familiarity with the IPA. The problem with local pronunciations of Rawmarsh is that there are several depending on how local you are and how 'posh' you are trying to speak! I think there needs to be an RP pronunciation that stresses that the first syllable is pronounced closer to the word row than raw - true Rawmarsh residents can then mangle the second syllable as much as they want:) 89.241.144.173 (talk) 10:43, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
