Rawson is a town in Victoria, Australia, located on Tyers - Thomson Valley Road, in the Shire of Baw Baw. The town was established for workers involved in the construction of the Thomson Dam, which was completed in 1983. At the 2006 census, Rawson had a population of 279.
Rawson is a great vacation getaway for the people of Melbourne, and offers visitors a the chance to enjoy a wide range of activities, which include: bushwalking, hiking, 4WD explorations, mountain biking, trout fishing, whitewater adventures, historical explorations, cross-country skiing, gold fossicking and trail bike riding.
