[edit] RfD nomination of Geology of North America
I have nominated the discussion page. Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 19:30, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
for discussion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at[edit] Informing past contributors of new TFD for Template:Maintained
As you were a contributor in the last TFD, I am letting you know that {{Maintained}} is again up for deletion. Please review the current version of the template and discuss it at the TFD. Thanks! — BRIAN0918 • 2008-01-30 17:48Z
[edit] Another question on maps
I've been doing some more experimenting with this, and do you know of a way not to make the dot marker move? I had it in the right place, but then after I added a second dot it shifted. So I made adjustments, but now if I pull it up in Firefox and pull it up in I.E. they are in slightly different spots. Do you know of any way to avoid this or should I just not waste my time? User:Gopher backer/sandbox1 thanks! Gopher backer (talk) 23:47, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- I've experienced the shift also when another dot is added. I think it has something to do with spacing after each section, as when I go back and very carefully re-enter the information it works. The difference between FF and IE seems to be another matter. Kablammo (talk) 17:15, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Toad Taxonomy
I will try to put it in the species articles later. I put the reference in the new genus articles, but it is a lot of articles to change and it would take a long time to change. The IUCN will take time to change. --liquidGhoul (talk) 22:13, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Portal
Hi. Could you possibly look at and vote on Wikipedia:Featured_portal_candidates/Portal:Minnesota? I think you were one of those interested in seeing this featured. There are very few people sitewide available for portal reviews so I ask. Thanks. -Susanlesch (talk) 21:26, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Rotavirus
Hi, thanks again for your advice on the article. Would you have time to revisit the FAC? Best wishes, Graham. --GrahamColmTalk 14:50, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Many thanks, and the layperson bit means a lot to me.--GrahamColmTalk 16:34, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Neptune FAC
I've addressed your issues. Let me know if there are any more problems. Serendipodous 22:11, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- Waited three days, just promoted it, so you might want to put any new comments on the article talk page. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 00:59, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the response, Dave. Eight days is extra time considering the support it had garnered and only one outstanding Oppose, which (apparently) had been addressed. I'll hope you'll stay on top of future planetary nominations, as they're coming up somewhat unprepared and causing me an extra measure of diligence. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 01:16, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Re:TF2
The general consensus amongst editors for the page (its not just me) is that all sorts of potential game guide material that is not directly a) necessary for the understanding of the subject or b) unreferenced should be removed as Wikipedia is not a game guide. We climbed a high cliff to get it out of its old game guide style, but anomalous IPs have a habit of consistently adding in more irrelevant detail. In this case, while its clearly a short time, but saying directly that its ten seconds exactly is original research. Perhaps it is a bit overzealous and a little petty, but its necessary to try to keep the article clear of unencyclopedic game banter. -- Sabre (talk) 13:43, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Komodo dragon FAC
I've responded to your issues. I've implemented a few of them while explaining my rationale for doing things the way it is for the ones I didn't implement. Thanks for cleaning up the article. I really appreciate it. bibliomaniac15 Midway upon life's journey... 04:48, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cat-herder needed
Re: Talk:Minnesota#150th. Would you like to resume your old role? If you get time, please look at the entertainment section. I've made a proposal to limit additions to it. Regards, Kablammo (talk) 22:51, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. I spammed a few talk pages and left a note at the MN project page. Ask others if you like. I updated the transportation section in about 20 minutes, and added some new refs. If we get enough folks it won't take long. Good luck with the Ecology article; it's a good start. Kablammo (talk) 02:00, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Force
Hi!
I'd love to work with you on Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Force. Perhaps the FAC page isn't the best place for this, however. Let's try to get the prose up to a standard that you think is clear and understandable through discussions on Talk:Force. I'm not sure that I totally understand all of your critiques, and some of the issues you raise seem to lie more in your own misconceptions about forces than with anything that is actionable by myself or other editors.
Will you work with me?

Wow, and here I was convinced that I was the SVG expert around here due to my ability to place dots on a map! I like what you've done, I would suggest keep doing them. I think there is a ton of stuff out there that could be done, I'll see what I can find. Did you happen to notice the job that the Graphics Lab did for me? It was outstanding. (old -> new) Definitely if you have the know how to create these, it's a great way to contribute. Gopher backer (talk) 02:49, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cattle Egret
Hey Ravedave, we thought it'd be better for someone new to analyse this before going to FAC which a few of us reckon it's ready. Would you be able to nitpick before we nominate it? Cheers, Casliber (talk · contribs) 05:50, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Minnesota page
I think the original meaning of the sentence was vague and implied that place just become more racially diverse over time. Large groups of people don't move to a place just for the heck of it, they either run away from something or toward something. Jobs attract people from all over the country, that is why places that are economically booming like New York or Los Angeles have an abundance of cultures where as place that are not doing so well like Gary, Indiana or West Virginia are more culturally homogeneous. If Blacks, Asians and Hispanics aren't coming to Minnesota for the jobs what are they coming for? - Schrandit (talk) 19:24, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Proposal for adding a Landing_Date parameter to Spacecraft Infobox
Hello Ravedave! You seemed to know something about modifying infobox templates, so I hope this is an appropriate question to leave here for you. In the Phoenix (spacecraft) article, there is a spacecraft infobox that uses Decay as the parameter indicating the date of landing on Mars. There does not appear to be any parameter in the template for a controlled landing. See discussion at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Phoenix_%28spacecraft%29#Decay.3F and also at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template_talk:Infobox_Spacecraft#Should_there_be_a_parameter_for_landing_date.3F The wording on the template page indicates that I should get some kind of review or consensus before adding anything to it. Do you see anything wrong with me adding a Landing_Date parameter (or however it should be named)? I have never done anything with infobox templates on Wikipedia before, so I am a bit wary of messing things up. Thanks for your time. CosineKitty (talk) 16:40, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] RE: Template:Infobox Spacecraft:
Thanks for your comment. It is not standard practice with regard to anything on Wikipedia to keep a log on the talk page of every single action and change made to a page. This is the function of the page history, and frankly I have no sympathy for anyone who expects others to go out of their way to make available information which they could easily find out through other means (ie the page history). Talk pages are for raising issues and proposing major changes. They are not for discussing every edit before it is made. If every minor edit had to be discussed and voted on, then nothing would ever get done. Sometimes it is more important to be bold and get on with editing. I am not sure how this edit "broke" the template, however I can assure you that I did check it after making this edit, and I could find no problem in any article that I checked. Finally, I am slightly curious as to why you seem to be critisising me for not discussing changes when you don't seem to have done so yourself, in a more recent edit. Please can you clarify this. Thanks. --GW_SimulationsUser Page | Talk 18:28, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

"revert, you deleted what is probably the most important entry right now. Also by area is much nicer"
- I wasn't aware that I had deleted anything, only that I had added stuff. Please advise what I deleted.
- Also, please advise as to which is "probably the most important entry right now".
- "Also by area is much nicer". Well, that's simply your POV. I don't agree, but if you want it to stay that way, I can live with it.
