Ravenhill, Belfast

Ravenhill is an area of South Belfast centred on the Ravenhill Road. The area has seen a sharp rise house prices in recent years. Ormeau Park is in the vicinity. It is also home to Ravenhill Stadium which has a capacity of 12,300 and is owned by the Irish Rugby Football Union. It is used by the local Ulster Rugby Club.
Ravenill is also an electoral ward of South Belfast which was created in 1985. The ward was effectively the successor to the abolished Ormeau ward and took about two thirds of its electorate from there with the rest coming from the abolished Willowfield ward.

On Census Day (29 April 2001) the resident population of Ravenhill ward was 5500. Of this population:
- 17.8% were under 16 years old and 19.0% were aged 60 and above;
- 46.1% of the population were male and 53.9% were female; and
- 25.5% were from a Catholic Community Background and 67.3% were from a 'Protestant and Other Christian (including Christian related)' Community Background.
