The Raven Mocker is a legendary creature from Cherokee lore. Being the most feared of all witches in Cherokee tradition, it had the power to consume a dying person's soul so that they may live longer. The name is presumably in reference to the creature's immortality, meaning its body will never become the prey of scavenger birds such as ravens.
