User talk:Raul654/Anthony evidence

Has this case gone through mediation for the specific infringement in question before it went for arbitration? The case is not Anthony v. Raul over the Main Page. Neither Anthony nor Raul have the right to decide how the Main Page should be handled. That is a decision made by all Wikipedians. Nor can the arbitration committee decide on how the feature articles are switched on the Main Page. That is also a general Wikipedia decision. I, for one, am not sure I see the point of this arbitration, since it is not a debate between two users (if it was, it should be me versus Anthony, because I actually blocked him, and I do not want to take Anthony to arbitration). Nor is any agreement on Anthony's status, made between Raul and Anthony, legitimate, if the problem is one of Anthony v. Wikipedia norms. I therefore ask the arb. comm. to come up with some other solution, preferably sending it back to mediation. At that point, the mediation committee can decide whether there is a case, and who should be involved in it. Danny 15:46, 24 Jul 2004 (UTC)

I just don't see what mediation is going to achieve in this particular case. What do you expect mediation to achieve, Danny? Based on what I've read here, it doesn't read as if the AC is being expected to decide on how the feature articles are switched, so I don't see why that's even coming up here. Moreover, if the case is Anthony vs Wikipedia norms, rather than Anthony vs Raul, what good is mediation going to do? Are we going to have a mediation session between Anthony and the rest of Wikipedia? Methinks not. Ambivalenthysteria 15:55, 24 Jul 2004 (UTC)
What exactly are you saying or advocating? A criticism without any suggested alternative or a general opinion is too ambivalent to be helpful. -SV 17:52, 29 Jul 2004 (UTC) PS : Just as my comment here is too late to be useful. ;)
Danny, it hasn't gone through mediation at all. anthony (see warning) 16:01, 24 Jul 2004 (UTC)
