[edit] License tagging for Image:Naruto-girl.jpg

Speaketh now to me! 18:16, 6 May 2007 (UTC) Thanks for uploading [[:]]. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 01:08, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia by creating the page Ice age 3. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. [edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Harry_7.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Harry_7.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] Please Use Edit Summaries

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Jmlk17 08:05, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bleach page move

Do not move significant pages without discussion, especially not by cut and paste. The page is at the (manga) title for a specific reason, namely that the manga came first and everything else is just a derivative, and it has been repeatedly discussed before. If you wish to change this, make a topic on the talk page. Future moves of the page without discussion will be considered vandalism. --tjstrf talk 08:25, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia sections

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed content from Billy & Mandy: Wrath of the Spider Queen. Please be more careful when editing pages and do not remove content from Wikipedia without a good reason, which should be specified in the edit summary. [edit] Abuse!

Prequels Or Sequels
Okay, I need to clear this up as its being changed back and forth. A prequel is a movie that comes before... and sequel is one that comes after. So looking at the plot details "The is currently no plot details but it is predicted to continue where the prequel left off." (Where the film before, the predecessor finished).
It can't be "sequel" because that would mean it continues where Ice Age 4 (assuming there is one made) finishes. — Movie Junkie 19:27, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
its referring to the end of Ice Age 2. dumb ass71.206.136.69 07:21, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
changed article to "where Ice Age 2 left off", to stop this whole prequel/sequal debate.Philbuck222 02:45, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

This was not needed for and your comment doesn't make any sense. If you read what I wrote, I was referring to the end of Ice Age 2, like you said! Get your facts straight before your abuse people. — MovieJunkie Talk! 09:32, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Season 2 DVD.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Season 2 DVD.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. You're one away from breaking it. — Someguy0830 (T | C) 21:30, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Headband

please see many of the episodes in this topic. They have production notes, this article doesn't have a vrey developed one yet because the episode redently came out. [edit] Word Choice

I noticed that we disagree on word choice for the following sentence: "Ozai implies that Ursa arranged Azulon's death so Zuko would be spared and Ozai would become Fire Lord." Namely, I disagree with your use of "implies" for two reasons:

First, I do not find your argument for changing my edit compelling. You stated "imply is of a higher vocabulary, where 'hint' is grade school." I am unclear as to how you consider "implies" to be of "higher vocabulary" than "hints." I am sure it is not because one has more letters. So please elaborate more on your reasoning; I am more than willing listen.
Second, I believe your usage of the word "implies" is either incorrect or just awkward. "A implies B" means that B is a logical consequence of A. So the sentence above is actually saying that Ozai's existence (not his words) suggests Ursa's plan, etc. I assume that is not the intended meaning. A better usage could be of the form "Ozai's statement implies that Ursa...."

I am merely trying to understand your decision, so please do not interpret this posting as a confrontation. I hope that the results of this discussion can help improve the article in question. b.y.w (talk) 00:30, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

I appreciate you coming to me about this, and i suppose my position is rather opinionated. I consider 'imply' to be a higher vocabulary, simply because i did not learn the word in school until late in junior high school, whereas i learned 'hint' in around third grade. Considering that you obviously know a more proper usage of the word; I will leave the decision of the sentence up to you, as I no longer feel fit to. Rau J16 02:47, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Avatar: The Last Airbender episode merging disscussion

Currently, due to complaints about the separate episode articles not being in compliance with WP:EPISODE, the articles are all currently being merged into combined articles, separated by book instead of episode. The current snadbox for the merging can be found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Avatar: The Last Airbender/season 1. To discuss or give ideas that will help, leave a message on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Avatar: The Last Airbender/season 1 or on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Avatar: The Last Airbender#Episode merging project. [edit] Link Removal

Hi Rauj16. Just wanted to let you know that per wikipedia's policy of not linking to places that host copyright violations, I redacted a link you posted on the talk page of List_of_Avatar:_The_Last_Airbender_episodes. The website in question seems to be defunct anyway. Or rather, it would seem to be a .org rather than a .com. Best, --Bfigura (talk) 22:19, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

What link did i post? Rau J16 04:33, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Caught

Your the one who placed the redirect line on the Avatar episodes, eh? I saw you in the history tab which accessed using a link http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Boy_in_the_Iceberg&action=edit. Why do you have to merge them and where is the "policy" stated? Dar book (talk) 11:57, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

We have told you people many times, i am not stating it again. Rau J16 23:34, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I get it. Dar book (talk) 10:51, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Dislike

Speaking personally? At first I disliked you for participating in removing the pages. Now I understand why the pages were removed, and I'm all right with it. Now I merely dislike you because you're a condescending ass. I think a lot of the complaints you're getting from people (that you whine so irritatingly about) are due to your noxious personality. One look at your user page reveals how often people (admins, even) complain about you. If you don't want people to complain about you, guess what -- you win more flies with honey than vinegar. But hey, you're 16 years old -- whatever. --Choi9999 (talk) 02:47, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Oh, and because you coming here and insulting me makes you so much better. In addition, I started out nice, simply stating facts, but when they kept saying the same thing repetitively, I got annoy and then became condescending. Rau J16 02:54, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I can see that. But you do see how condescending just creates more problems, right? And I know I don't have the high ground here -- but I'm trying not to insult you any more on a public forum. That's why I came here to say it to you. I'm just saying -- it just seems counterproductive to yell and shout and condescend at people and not expect more complaints to come in. You see that, right? If you want to stop people complaining about an issue, **OFFER CONSTRUCTIVE SOLUTIONS.** Otherwise, sad to say, the complaints from others won't stop, and your complaints won't draw any sympathy whatsoever. I dunno, write a walkthrough on how to access the history pages, since it's evidently not occurring to a lot of people. --Choi9999 (talk) 03:02, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Yes, i suppose this was a good move on your part, and this also does prevent me from getting in trouble if my anger gets away from me. But Frye did write a walk through for them to do that, we have proposed a way for them to continue what they want to do. But you are right, I do need to stop being so irritable. So, uh, thanks. Rau J16 03:05, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
It's cool. Sorry I did it, but hopefully things will work out. When people just come up with the same complaint, I'd say just provide a link to the walkthrough or whatever prior entry answers their question. That way you'll help them out/shut them up and save yourself some aggravation. You'll notice that's what admins seem to do every now and again. --Choi9999 (talk) 03:17, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
All right, i did that, here it is: User:Rauj16/Walkthorughs. I put it on a sub page, that way they wont have to sort through archives to find it. If you see any problems, let me know and I'll fix them, or you can do it yourself. I will post this on the list's talk page. Rau J16 03:31, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Don't want to get into an edit war...

Why do you keep messing with the image link on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Avatar:_The_Last_Airbender/season_1 ? ~Pakaroo (Pakaru) (talk) 04:23, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Because you are not supposed to have images outside of namespace, the link was like that for a reason. Read the edit summaries. Rau J16 04:36, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Could you please tell me what namespace is? ~Pakaroo (Pakaru) (talk) 04:46, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

I suppose i should have said main namespace, its a page that lacks a prefix (i.e. User:, Wikipedia:, Talk:). Rau J16 04:56, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Age

Well, it helps that I'm a journalist -- my job involves finding things out. But a) you have your email address up on Wikipedia and b) there aren't that many times Rauj16 or Rauj13 pops up on the Internet. I just Googled one or two of those three items, and your age is mentioned on a Web site somewhere. Just look up "Rauj13" and "16" on Google and you can see for yourself. I have a bunch of info up about myself too -- I generally adopt a stance of transparency, because people are going to find out stuff about you anyhow, unless you're pretty clever. --Choi9999 (talk) 04:43, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Ben 10 list of Ben's transformations

I believe that the edit you made to Ben 10 involving the list of aliens Ben can transform into using the Omnitrix was "incorrect", for lack of a better term at this moment. Please tell me anything you wish on my talk page. Thank you! Andy pyro 01:21, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] My edit to Vulcan (Marvel Comics)

You said it was worse and I'd like to know why you think that. Simply stating that an edit which made things clearer for non-comics readers was worse, isn't an exceptable enough reason for a revert in my opinion. Stephen Day (talk) 01:15, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

Yes, the term "shared universe" could be confusiing to non-comics if it weren't linked to the article explaining what the term meant. It was linked though, which is why using the term isn't a problem and actually makes things clearer for non-comics readers. Stephen Day (talk) 04:53, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
They could, but the link to "shared universe" is something that adds to a reader's understanding by helping to further define the concepts. How is this a be a bad thing? Stephen Day (talk) 05:04, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
How exactly is one link overly complicating?
Those that wish to know more will click the link and those that don't won't be hurt by one extra link in the text.Stephen Day (talk) 22:16, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
I still don't agree, but after reading User:J Greb's statement on the Vulcan talk page, I'm willing to back off here. Stephen Day (talk) 00:11, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] A Truce Preposal

You seem to be so adament about your dislike of my use of the term and link "shared universe" in the Vulcan article. My feeling is still that its useful and I have no desire to discontinue editing it into articles.

I feel the need to prepose a truce of sorts as a result of this. If I encounter an article that I realize you have a part in editing, I won't add the term and link, if you give me the same consideration and refrain from editing my work in this matter. Stephen Day (talk) 00:44, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

I agree, but judgeing by the pace so far, consensus looks to be a long time out. I felt there was a need for something more interm for now. Stephen Day (talk) 00:58, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hulk films on Marvel Comics Film Template

You say 'unfortunately consensus is against grouping the two films'. I'm not sure if this means unfortunately because you think they're linked, or because the person edited in good faith. If the latter, then I agree. If the former, please be aware that we have multiple citations supporting this as a total reboot, one which simple does not overtly contradict the entirity of the first film. Hope that helps. I think you are right, melon is back in a new guise. I looked at the new editor's user page and he has the same huge paragraph describing his favorite anime shows and rock bands. It's also chocked full of fair use images that are only allowed in articles concerning the pic's subject matter. I think it should be reported to an admin. [edit] English

In a recent edit to the page Wikipedia:Colours, you changed one or more words from one international variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For subjects exclusively related to Britain (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. If it is an international topic, use the same form of English the original author used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to the other, even if you don't normally use the version the article is written in. Respect other people's versions of English. They in turn should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. If you have any queries about all this, you can ask me on my talk page or you can visit the help desk. Thank you. -- Quiddity (talk) 02:45, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Simple query

Oh, I just use it to eliminate the need for transclusion. Though if you or someone else would rather use the template, go ahead and change it back. That template is used on I don't know how many pages and using it on less pages would be a smaller load on the servers. Though it doesn't matter that much, its just a few pages compared to who knows how many.:) Cheers.:) Maximillion Pegasus (talk) 18:37, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Please do not remove the sourced material on Supernatural. "CW Renews Supernatural" is the announcement of another season of the show. There's not much room for interpretation here. Xndr (talk) 20:30, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Do you understand what it means when a network renews a show? What in your words does the announcement mean? Xndr (talk) 20:39, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Incorrect. I do highly doubt reading comprehension skills have sunk here as such, but, for the greater good, and in order to avoid a childish edit war, I will cite from a different source. Cheers! Xndr (talk) 20:53, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
I apologize for tone I used then. You're right about interpretation - I interpreted your actions as an obstinate edit, not as genuine gesture of improvement. Bad faith on my part, so I'm sorry. You did remove some unsourced material, so thank you for that. Xndr (talk) 21:10, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Animators

Responding here since it's easier. Yeah, there's a little bit about it right here. I forget what their union is called, but the writers argued that people who write for animation and assemble reality programming are essentially writing, and wanted to absorb those groups through the contract negotiation. The two main problems with this is that it would bypasses all of the processes that the animation writers would have to go through to dissolve their union and ratify the WGA, and would ignore the fact that the animators never voted to join the union in the first place (which is necessary in American union law). The writers didn't seem to care and this became one of the sticking points during the strike, and they gave up on it 2-3 weeks before the strike ended.

Also, I didn't realize that Avatar had finished production, but knowing that just makes me didappointed that we don't get foreknowledge of when the next episode is going to air. Hewinsj (talk) 15:58, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Question

Sure, feel free to ask away when ever you need a question answered. The Placebo Effect (talk) 02:25, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Fixxed it myself, all the page history is in the correct place now. If you ever need anything, don't be afraid to ask

[edit] Death Note and sources

Regarding this: "(most of the references are from the same place, it needs additional sources, not more references to the same source) (undo)"

I understand the ideas of getting third party sources. In the meantime I am working on exhausting the material in How to Read 13 (a very expansive book) before searching Google News for reviews of Death Note that I could use to bolster characterization details. [edit] The Real Deal

Well, originally, we thought that Walter Mellon Head was behind the whole sockpuppeting situation. However, I recently discovered and reported that User:Buck Oakley is the mastermind behind everything. Buck Oakley started editing on Feb. 5. He stopped editing on Feb. 17, after I warned him against the three-revert rule. The VERY NEXT DAY, Walter Mellon Head comes in doing the same edits as Buck Oakley. Instead of a sockpuppet report being filed, Melon is just blocked as a vandalism-only account. From there, Buck Oakley (who we think is Melon) creates Avatar-Jedi-Alchemist, who is also blocked. Finally is Hippie-Man-Duddly, who is blocked. A report is filed where all of the accounts will be blocked and marked as sockpuppets of Buck Oakley. Just wanted to let you know. [edit] Aang FAC

Aang is currently a FAC. Hopefully it will pass and we can get it on the Main Page for the Season 3 Finale. You might want to check on it every once in a while, since I am not available 24/7. Thanks, hope it passes! Parent5446(Murder me for my actions) 02:14, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Favor, please.

I need to ask for a quick favor. I am going to sleep now so I cannot get to it. Somebody says that the episode citations should not link to plot summaries on a fansite. They are right to some extent, so could you please just remove the URL parameter in each of the episode citations if I do not get to it first. Thanks a lot. [edit] Withdrawn nomination

Hi. I thought I'd just let you know about the procedures for closing an AFD if you've withdrawn the nomination. It's not sufficient to just remove the AFD template. As a non-admin, you can still close the AFD following the non-admin closure process. I've closed it, so you don't need to do anything more, but I thought I'd let you know just for future reference. BTW, thanks for taking the initiative to withdraw the nomination instead of letting it drag out into a brouhaha. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 11:43, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
