I, or someone I represent, is the subject of an article in Wikipedia. I wish to submit photos of this person for use on Wikipedia and its sister projects.

In that email, you must explicitly state:

  1. That you own the copyright on the photo
  2. What copyright license you want to release it under. Whatever license you choose must allow the photo to be freely copied and modified by anyone (including 3rd parties not affiliated with Wikipedia), for any purpose. We recommend using either the Creative Commons Attribution license or the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license.

Bear in mind that we do not guarantee we will use your photo. By submitting a photo to us under one of these licenses, you are allowing anyone to copy and modify this photo for any purpose. This includes using it commercially, however, you still retain personality rights that may limit commercial exploitation of your likeness.
