[edit] Soldado & Balbao
I will let you on a little secret: Soldado played 11 games and scored 2 goals for Madrid in the 2005-06 season and Balboa played in 2 games! They were loaned out to Primera División teams, but they did not played for Real Madrid Castilla last term which is what you are implying when you added "promoted from the B team". Oh! Real Madrid Castilla is the B team so you do not have to say "promoted from B team"! Yes, but the shock will wear off soon! Raul17 06:09, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
RE: They have not got a 1st team squad number. In Spain, numbers from 1 to 25 are for the first team, 26 to whatever are for B team. They can play 1st team matches, but they are considered as a part of the B team. B team players have many restrictions, as they cannot play the last five games without having played a certain number of matches for the first team.
Real Madrid Castilla and Real Madrid B are the same. It changed its name when they promoted to 2nd Division. People here still refers to it as 'el B'. Other examples are Sevilla Atlético (= Sevilla B) or Valencia Mestalla (= Valencia B). Saying Castilla or B team means the same.
