Raul Montanari (b. 1959 in Bergamo, Italy) is an Italian writer. He published a collection of short stories, Un bacio al mondo (Rizzoli, 1998), a manual, L’idraulico in casa (Plumber at Home, 1985) and seven novels: Il buio divora la strada (Leonardo, 1991), La perfezione (Feltrinelli, 1994), Sei tu l’assassino (Marcos y Marcos, 1997), Dio ti sta sognando (Marcos y Marcos, 1998), Che cosa hai fatto (Baldini & Castoldi, 2001), Chiudi gli occhi (Baldini & Castaldi, 2003) and La verità bugiarda (Baldini & Castaldi, 2005).
La perfezione, Che cosa hai fatto and Chiudi gli occhi were translated in Germany by Ullnstein.
Montanari translated in Italian many anglo-American writers as Cormac McCarthy, Allan Gurganus, André Brink, Oscar Wilde, Philip Roth and William Styron.
