Propose that It be moved per the Wikipedia:Naming conventions (comics) guideline, to fall in line with all the others using (comics). Anyone have strong feelings and good reason why not? MURGH ^disc. 23:25, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Comment. That is surprising reasoning. A uniform disambiguation guideline is only effective if it is followed, per the agreed general disambiguation phrase used for articles related to comic books, graphic novels, comic strips, and comics creators is "(comics)". To minimize user confusion, it makes sense to avoid terms possibly referring to comedic performance, and avoid variations such as comic book, comic strip.. MURGH ^disc. 10:16, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

It should be (comics) in this case, per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (comics), as cited above. This is no different than Robin (comics). - jc37 11:28, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Um... actually "(comic book}" would be better in this case. There has been at least one other notable character called Ratman, from Willinghams Elementals. (Oddly enough Ratman does exist, though it looks like it's a vanity piece for someone's pet comic book project...)
Even if that is viewed as a non-issue, the consistently used, and preferred, base disambigus term is "(comics)". At the very least this article should move to that. — J Greb 17:23, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Since there seems to be a difference between Rat-Man and Ratman, I agree that it's probably a non-issue. And yes, (comic) should never be used. - jc37 01:56, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Image:Rat-ManCoverT01.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template.
