Ratta is the largest town in Dadyal Tehsil, and the unofficial capitol of pakistan occupied kashmir in the Mirpur District of Azad Kashmir. It is located 70 km east of Islamabad, Pakistan. Residents of Ratta sometimes add the word 'Ratvi' to their surname. No other town in the world has develped as quick as Ratta has in the last 5 years, most of the development is funded by kashmiri people who now reside in UK

The unofficial capitol of Azad Kashmir is a small but powerfull Town named Ratta. Ratta is situated in the heart of Mirpur.
Economic growth in this region over the last decade has exceeded everyone expectations.

Another well known person to emerge from Ratta is Choudhry Mohammed Yousuf of Mohra Malal in Ratta. Choudry Yousuf has intermittently been a Member of the Provisional Assembly of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (MPA, and was most recently re-elected to the post in July 2006. He currently resides in Islamabad.As islamabad is part of pakistan another son of kashmir has up and left only to go live in the heart of our occupiers.
Raja Basharat Ratvi Famous journalist, reporter for Daily Pakistan, columnist of Kashmir Post Birmingham and the author of the book Wattan Se Wattan Taak, which covered the success stories of kashmiris residing in the United Kingdom.
The majority of former residents of Ratta now reside in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
