Rathmichael (Irish: Ráth Mhichíl, meaning Michael's Fort) is a suburb in the south-east of Dublin in the county of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. It situated west of Shankill from which it is separated by M50/M11 motorways.

Rathmichael is an affluent suburb, characterised by extensive tracts of low density dwellings, large houses with large gardens interspersed with open areas. It rises to the west towards the hill of Carrickgollogan in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains. The area is overlooked by the chimney of the disused leadmines and the ruins of Pucks Castle on the northern flank of Carrickgallogan

It is home to such amenities as 'Aravon preparatory school', Old Conna Golf Club (Ferndale road), and Rathmichael church and graveyard.

It also has the oldest house in South County Dublin, The Old Glebe House. This is the place where Johnathan Swift went to stay with the Reverend who lived in the house, and where it's been suggested that he wrote some of his Gulliver's Travels.
